Tried & Tested: Lomer Footwear on the Trails

Thanks to my overenthusiastic dog, I found myself ankle-deep in water—and I’m happy to report that Lomer’s waterproofing technology held up perfectly. My feet stayed dry and comfortable, making these shoes a great option for unpredictable weather and wet terrains.
The First Adventure: Helton Fell & Ullswater Views
For the first outing, I chose Helton Fell, a beautiful spot overlooking Ullswater. The route was relatively flat, making it an ideal test for long-distance comfort. The terrain was varied enough to see how well the shoes handled different surfaces—grassy paths, muddy sections, and, of course, plenty of puddles (for both my dog and me!).
The walk was about two miles in before reaching one of the best viewpoints in the area. And for those wanting to extend the journey, dropping down into Pooley Bridge offers even more breathtaking scenery.
